If you’ve seen a neighbourhood block party pop up around the region, it’s likely thanks to funding from Neighbourhood Small Grants, a program designed to help neighbours to make their communities better places to live. In Oliver, Arbour Lane residents gathered in the sunshine to bbq, chat, and went home with a craft and a tub of tulips to brighten their street in the spring.
“We had a great turnout of residents, and children, it was a lot of fun!,” says the event organizer. It was so nice to welcome and meet our new neighbours as well. The highlights, for sure were the rocking painting table, and the ice cream waffle bowl sundae dessert with many different toppings to choose from!”
